Choosing Between Male and Female Quran Tutors

Many families ask whether they should choose a male or female tutor. There is no single right answer — comfort and consistency matter more than anything else.

For young children and for sisters, a female tutor is often the natural choice, and every serious academy should offer one. Our female tutors are certified in Tajweed and experienced with beginners.

Beyond gender, ask about certification. A tutor with an Ijazah has recited the entire Quran to a qualified teacher and been authorised to teach.

Language matters too. A child who thinks in English will progress faster with a tutor who explains in English, even if the recitation itself is Arabic.

Finally, watch the first lesson. A good tutor corrects kindly, keeps the student talking, and ends with a clear task for the week. If that is not happening, ask to change teacher — a good academy will not mind.
